IBM Security Guardium Ideas Portal

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Post an Idea

To post a new idea - click on the "Add a new idea" button and select the appropriate capability area this idea relates to. Entitlement assessment builder required for making Entitlement Reports scanning and reporting scaleable (similar to what we have for VA)

Entitlement Reports (ER) implementation in Guardium consists of a set of pre-defined Custom tables that can be scheduled for population via pre-defined queries. As of today, ER feature is not scalable for the following reasons:
1) There are no grdapi/REST api commands to map datasources to ER/custom tables. Customer would have to map thousands of datasources manually from GUI. Also, changing datasource mappings would have to be done manually from GUI.

2) In a centrally managed environment, each appliance has its own set of ER tables. However, the definition for datasource mapping to ER tables is stored on CM. In other words, we cannot map one datasource group on one managed appliance, map another datasource group on another managed appliance, and so on.

3) There’s no “Assessment Builder” like feature for ER which would enable us to map different datasource groups to the same ER table so data can be uploaded in batches based on different schedules. Example: Upload data from 1K datasources on Monday, another 1K datasources on Tuesday, and so on.

4) If say custom table upload for say 200 out of 15K datasources failed for whatever reason and need to be re-run, there is no easy way to re-run just the failed ones.
