We are using Guardium 10.6. Current GIM Gui interface is designed to show the latest stap available for the installation by default, whether the server is fetched out for an upgrade or just changing existing stap parameter(s) without performing an upgrade. This causes quite a bit of confusion as a person can accidentally upgrade the stap version while the intent is simply to change stap parameters. Even unchecking the latest bundle and show bundles does not always guaranty that the cursor lands on a right stap version.
Ironically the previous version of GUI had an option where one could go upgrade individual components and change the parameters without upgrading the stap version.
Because we are a bank and there are many checks and balances in place, we do get unauthorized violations as result of unwanted upgrades which requires a lot of explanation and paper work and frankly and unnecessary headache.
