We would like to be able to move one or more KMIP clients and their respective symmetric keys from an older (e.g., v220.127.116.11) SKLM server to a current SGKLM server. We don't want to backup/restore the whole database because the target server already has needed items.
Currently, we can export/import the symmetric keys owned by the client as a "device group" having the same name as the client, and can export/import the client's certificate. But then things seem to fall apart. We cannot assign the certificate to the client on the target server due to: "CTGKM3408E Unable to obtain client details. Client with SFCMVSPBINF08 name not found." We also cannot create the client due to: "CTGKM3430E Unable to create client because a client with the same name SFCMVSPBINF08 already exists."
Even if we try to create a new client (having a different name), we cannot assign "ownership" of the symmetric keys to the client.
